SCCA American Sedan number 31. This car has a racing pedigree back to the early 1990's. The car was built and campaigned originally by Tavo Hellmund. Mr. Hellmund was instramental in bringing Formula 1 back to the US and the development of Circuit of the Americas, COTA. Tavo parked the car when sponsor money dried up and eventually sold it to Boyd Lear. Mr. Lear owned the car twice and campained it in AS in the Colorado SCCA Region. Boyd qualified and raced in the 2017 Championship Run-off at Indy. This fact is documented by SCCA Records and YouTube video of the race. I acquired the car in July 2026 and will race it in AS as a legacy car. I'll make some minor changes, wiring, seat,  and a RaceTronics flag transponder but keep the livery as it is.

The #31 Camaro has a history that spans several owners and 3 decades of SCCA American Sedan competition. This photo archive documents the car's known history, including its time with Tavo Hellmund, Boyd Lear, Tom Less, and its current ownership by Bill Reilly. As additional photographs and documentation are discovered, they will be added to this archive.
